Wall panelling

We set out panelling around the room you actually have: windows, sockets, radiators and sloping floors included, so the frames look evenly spaced when you stand back.

  • Shaker and box panelling, half height or full height
  • Tongue and groove for hallways, bathrooms and under-stair walls
  • Panelled walls behind beds, along stairs and in dining rooms
  • Dado and picture rails, matched or new
  • Scribed to uneven walls and finished ready for paint

Skirting and architraves

Old houses often have a mix of profiles from different eras. We can match what is there, or replace a room's worth so every length agrees.

  • Replacing damaged or missing lengths to match the existing profile
  • Torus, ogee, bullnose and period mouldings
  • Deeper skirting to suit a high-ceilinged room
  • New skirting and architraves after plastering or new floors
  • Tight mitres at corners and neat scribes to the floor

Is it time?

When it makes the biggest difference.

  • A plain hallway or bedroom wall needs character without a full redecoration.
  • Skirting has been patched over the years and no two lengths match.
  • New floors or replastering have left gaps above the skirting.
  • Architraves were removed during work and need putting back properly.

How it works

From photos to a proper fit.

  1. Plan the layout

We measure the wall and draw the panel spacing around windows, sockets and radiators.

  2. Match or choose a profile

Close-up photos help us match skirting and architraves; for panelling, we agree style and height.

  3. Fit and fill

Scribed, fixed and filled, with joints sealed so your decorator can go straight in.

Questions

Worth knowing before you start.

Something else to ask?

Send a photo and a line about the job. Close-ups of any detail you want matched help most.

Ask a question
Will panelling work on an uneven wall?

Yes. We scribe the panelling to the wall and floor and pack behind it where needed, so the frames look straight even when the wall is not.

Do you paint the panelling?

We leave it filled, sanded and caulked, ready for paint. Many customers use their own decorator or paint it themselves.

Can you match my existing skirting?

Usually. Common period profiles are easy to find, and close-up photos with a rough height help us find or make the nearest match.

Can new skirting go on after the floor is laid?

Yes, and it often looks better that way, because the skirting sits down onto the finished floor and covers the expansion gap.
